Poland’s Maksim Vaskresenski picked the right time to bag his maiden tournament victory, picking up the $1,250,000 top prize for taking down the $100k Main Event at the PokerGO Tour’s SHR stop in North Cyprus.

That left 5 players in the money with $280,000 locked up, nearly but not quite enough to pay the entry for the 9th running of the Super High Roller Bowl that kicks off tomorrow.
At the third final table running, Adrian “El Conquistador” Mateos, looking to add a victory to a second and third in recent days. He started off in fine style, busting Artsiom Lasouski of Belarus…

Mateos: 9♥ 9♦
Bad enough news for the Belarus pro all-in and at risk pre-flop, but the flop made matters even worse…

…and there would be no reprieve on the run out…

Half an hour later and there was very little to separate Mateos, Vaskresenski, the USA’s Brian Kim and Frenchman Thomas Santerne, all with 20 BBs or so.
Mateos would come a cropper, though, shoving from the big blind against Santerne’s button raise…
That still gave Mateos $420k to add to his $166k of a day ago and his $231k the day before that – some weeks are just fun!
Back at the table, Brian Kim took a huge hit from Vaskresenski, and although he doubled against Santerne’s queens (again!) he eventually fell in 3rd spot for $610,000.
Heads-up began with a small lead for the French pro but his Polish opponent soon gained the lead, stretching it out gradually until Santerne was forced to make a stand…

…and that was all she wrote, the trip kings giving Vaskresenski victory and $1,250,000 to add to the $62,000 he picked up in the opening event. Incredibly, it was also his first-ever recorded win as well as being his biggest cash by almost $1million.
